The 0. Summary section of the Capacity and Access screen focuses on the overall patient experience and organisational activity to support the improvement plan.

There are two data sources uploaded to this area:

  • GPPS - The GP Patient Survey is a national feedback survey is collected and published by an independent research company. PCNs are required to use GPPS trends over the last 5 years for Q1, Q4, Q16, Q21 and Q32 within the GP Patient Survey. PCNs are also required to compare their performance against ICB and national averages as a baseline for improvement for the Local Access and Improvement Plan. The GPPS data is published on the GP Patient Survey website annually. Once published, it is uploaded centrally onto Ardens Manager. As the data is only published once a year, PCNs should continue to collect patient experience data throughout 2023-24 via local patient experience surveys. We will also be launching the ability to send and collect patient experience via Ardens Manager.

  • FFT- The Friends and Family Test is a feedback tool used by GP practices to gauge patient satisfaction and identify areas for improvement. Friends and Family test data is uploaded onto Ardens Manager on the last day of each month and looks at all responses within the month uploaded.

The Good Overall experience of GP practice (Q32) activity focuses on the patients general experience of their GP Surgery (GPPS data). To view counts for each response including ‘Neither good nor poor’ responses, click on the View link, followed by  Show breakdown.

The Would recommend GP Practice to friends or family activity looks at the FFT data and will show the percentage of patients who would recommend. To view counts for each response including ‘Neither good nor poor’ responses, click on the View link, followed by  Show breakdown.

If you wish to review, process and record patient experience data for your improvement plan this can be done via the Organisational Activity:
